The Lightfoot Boston Legacy

The spirit of Sweissy Union United Kingdom was born in the mid-20th century at a historic junction in Freetown: Lightfoot Boston Street and Howe Street.

It was here that a community of young Sierra Leoneans gathered as jewelry apprentices under the mentorship of Pa Sweissy, a master goldsmith known for his skill and leadership.

Recognizing the economic pressures of the time, this collective evolved into a dedicated Union—built on the principles of mutual aid, craftsmanship, and community welfare.

Our Roots

"Our foundation was built on the discipline of artisanal training and the unshakable belief that the success of one depends on the strength of the union."

"Creating Hope for People in Need"

Our motto represents the evolution of our mission. Today, we bridge the gap between the Sierra Leonean Diaspora in the United Kingdom and the urgent social needs of our homeland.
